Skyler Thompson graduated from Biola University with a bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry in May 2023.
Skyler felt God’s call to ministry in high school during a mission’s trip to Ireland and has been involved in ministry ever since. Besides studying at Biola, he also worked with his home church as an intern in children’s ministry and later served as a volunteer leader for middle school students at Fullerton Free. Most recently, Skyler spent 6 months serving as an intern and then became a volunteer leader in high school ministry at Eastside Christian Church where he served through the summer of 2023.
Skyler’s experience in high school ministry played a big role in his love for the church, especially for youth ministry. His small group leader and high school pastor was a significant mentor in his life and showed him what it meant to take God’s word seriously in his life. He wants to show students the importance of scripture and the message of the Gospel the way he was shown, and to provide a place for students to feel supported, encouraged, and challenged in their faith.
Skyler’s favorite verse is Romans 5:8: “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
In addition to sharing God’s word and getting to know his students, Skyler enjoys playing the ukulele, pickleball, reading, and volleyball.
